DataStore

Capture, evaluate, visualise and export process data from controls and sensors. Runs on the edge at the machine or on a server, without a cloud.

What the DataStore does

  • Capture: OPC UA (Siemens Sinumerik), S7, IO-Link via the sensor bridge, import from tool monitoring systems, live sampling of connected devices
  • Provide: data for a local cloud on site, with no path to the outside
  • Evaluate: alarm limits per signal, alarm evaluation, retention rules for raw data and aggregates
  • Show: free-form canvas dashboards, time series, states, key figures
  • Pass on: Excel export, interfaces for Grafana and your own analyses

The core is written in Rust, the interface in Vue, the data lives in PostgreSQL. The software runs as a Docker service, on the openXEdge as well as on a server in the plant.

Under your brand

Like the edge, the DataStore comes per customer in its own look with its own manual. A partner sells it bundled with its tool monitoring. A component manufacturer uses it as a manufacturing server that consolidates sensor data from its edges over months.

Where it comes from

The first version was built in 2020 as an analysis tool in customer projects. Today’s second generation was expanded substantially in 2025 and 2026: customer portal, live sampling, alarm evaluation, per-brand manual. Results from the DataPlan research project (inspection planning based on machine data, machine learning models) are being merged now.

The changelog is visible to customers; manual and downloads live in the customer portal.
